Spring 2014 Scholarship Photo Contest

By using both pictures and words, college students from all over the world told us what they learned by studying abroad.

To enter the ULS scholarship photo contest, students had to submit a photo and 100-200 word description that told us what they learned (or wished to learn) from their study abroad experience.

This contest’s Grand Prize winner is Patrick Niceforo, for his photo of Busan, South Korea.

Patrick was adopted by US parents and learned English as his first language. While visiting his birth city of Busan, Patrick learned that “People from different cultures can learn a lot from each other if they just take the time to talk and observe. As places like Busan and Seoul diversify, they become a hub of international exchange.”
