Announcing $500.00 Scholarship Contest for High School Students

University Language Services to award 3 scholarships in photo contest about college expectations.

New York — June 8, 2011 — University Language Services wants to know what college means to high school students.

While visiting campuses across the country in preparation for the big decision of which school to attend, ULS is asking students to share their impressions for a shot at winning up to $500.00.

High school students must submit a photo taken on a US college campus this year while visiting schools to decide where to apply or attend. Photos must be accompanied by a description of no more than 200 words about why that photo represents college to them.

The subject of the photo can be any number of things — from a college football team to an ivy-covered dormitory — as long as the photograph was taken by the entrant on or around a college campus this year.

After each round of the contest, ULS will post the top six submissions on its website for visitors to view and vote on. Voting will remain open to the public on the ULS website for a week. At the end of the week, the two photos that have received the most votes will be named the finalists for that round.

Here are the important dates:

Photos Submitted By: Vote Between:
Round One: July 8, 2011 July 11-18, 2011
Round Two: July 22, 2011 July 25 – Aug. 1, 2011

Round Six: September 16, 2011 Sept. 19-26, 2011
Round Seven: September 30, 2011 Oct. 3-10, 2011

At the end of the contest, a panel of judges will choose the scholarship winners from the finalists. The grand prize winner will receive a $500.00 college scholarship, and the second and third place winners will each receive a $100.00 scholarship.

All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. EST September 30, 2011.

Please see the submission form and official rules for more information.
