A recent study published in the Journal of College Student Retention claims that active Facebook users are more likely to stick it out through their college careers than less active Facebook users.
Led by Abilene Christian University, the study followed the profiles of 375 first-semester freshmen for nine months. The point of the study was to draw a parallel between how much time students spend on Facebook and how likely they are to stay in school.
According to the results of the research, students who returned to school after their freshman year had significantly more Facebook friends and wall posts than those who didn’t return. Coincidence? They don’t think so.
Seems counterintuitive, doesn’t it? We thought so and decided to do some research of our own. So all you students out there who have been in college for more than a year, tell us:
