If you are an international student who wants to attend a US college or university, then you probably want a school that understands and promotes the importance of an international education.
Each year NAFSA: Association of International Educators chooses college campuses that do just that. They receive the Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization. Last week the organization announced the 2009 winners. They are:
- Boston University (Boston, Massachusetts)
- Connecticut College (New London, Connecticut)
- Pacific Lutheran University (Tacoma, Washington)
- Portland State University (Portland, Oregon)
- University of Minnesota – Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota)
These schools and their internationalization efforts will be featured in a report to be published this fall by NAFSA, a nonprofit organization with almost 10,000 members committed to international education.
Three other schools will have a specific program spotlighted in the report:
- Berklee College of Music (Boston, Massachusetts)
- Fairleigh Dickinson University (Madison and Teaneck, New Jersey)
- University of California – Davis (Davis, California)
Do you attend one of these eight schools? Please leave a comment and tell us your thoughts about the international programs and activities at your campus!
